What you don't know can't hurt you. This is a full view of the East Ridge. The right side drops a couple thousands feet on this smooth slop. The left side (which is not visible) is a sheer drop and just that high. Luckily, you can't see this while you are on the ridge proper. This picture was taken from the low point on the ridge between Russell and Carillon. If you are inspired to climb it, I recommend you don't come here except on the way back.
