Needle of the Midday

Three days before I took this picture, we made an attempt to climb Mont Blanc. Unfortunately, the weather closed in and we were forced to retreat back to town. But we were not defeated. When the weather improved, we returned. This time the refuge was fully booked and we had no reservations, so we camped instead on the snow plateau that makes the top of Aiguille du Gouter. The view we had was more then enough to make up for the lack of warm meal at the Refuge du Gouter. We made it to the summit the following morning with a 2 AM start.

No Tripod, but with a fast film I was able to get a sharp picture, Chamonix, France
