Pfeiffer Beach

In late fall and early winter the sun shifts far enough south, so at sunset the light shines right through the sea cave. Wave surging against the cave's walls causes a watery spray that reflects and diffuses the warm sunset light to produce this striking scene. Pfeiffer Beach is located in Big Sur about 25 miles south of Monterey along Highway 1.
